STEM Teacher Workshop

About this event:

Please join Native Waters on Arid Lands (NWAL) for an accredited, two-day teacher professional development workshop to develop place-based lessons for your classroom related to key NWAL project themes: solar energy, water for agriculture and people, and drought and climate connections. At the end of the workshop, teachers will have completed lesson plans related to these themes, relevant to their home communities.

September 14, 2019: 8AM – 5PM
September 15, 2019: 8:30AM – 4:45PM

STAR School, Arizona

Agenda:

Day 1 will be dedicated to a series of seminars and hands-on demonstrations by scientists. On Day 2, teachers will create place-based lesson plans for their classrooms with the help of scientists.  We will integrate career connections and highlight pathways to college and beyond.
